This application offers an in-depth exploration of the diverse wildlife inhabiting China's wilderness regions. Users are invited to immerse themselves in the captivating world of animal sounds, providing an engaging auditory experience. Additionally, the app features a rich collection of high-quality photographs showcasing China's remarkable natural landscapes and its native species.

China's expansive and varied terrain supports a significant array of biodiversity. As one of the world's 17 megadiverse countries, it boasts approximately 7,516 vertebrate species, comprising 4,936 fish, 1,269 bird species, 562 mammals, 403 reptiles, and 346 amphibians. In terms of species richness, China ranks third globally among mammals, eighth among birds, seventh among reptiles, and seventh among amphibians. Notably, outside tropical regions, China exhibits the highest levels of biodiversity across these categories.

Several species are endemic to China, including its most iconic wildlife representative—the giant panda. Overall, approximately one-sixth of mammal species and two-thirds of amphibian species found in China are endemic to the region.

However, the wildlife of China faces significant challenges due to human population pressures. Over 840 species are classified as threatened, vulnerable, or at risk of local extinction. Major threats include habitat destruction, pollution, and illegal poaching for consumption, fur, and traditional Chinese medicine ingredients. Conservation efforts are evident; protected by law, the country has established over 2,349 nature reserves covering approximately 149.95 million hectares (around 580,000 square miles), constituting roughly 15 percent of China's total land area.
